A gem of a paper, made in Tottori prefecture as it would have been over 1000 years ago. 100% Japanese gampi with its irresistible sheen, hand pounded! Great for fine line ink drawing, chine-colle etching or folding in translucent layers. Divine to the touch.

Gampi is made from the inner bark of the gampi bush which must be obtained in the wild. Japanese gampi is very shiny even after being formed into paper, and has a natural sized quality which prevents absorption. Some gampi fibre is imported from the Philippines and it is much less shiny and more absorbent than Japanese.
