These bar weights are placed at the top of a sheet of paper to hold in position. Additionally can be used as a brush rest. Designed for sumi-e and brush calligraphy but also used in mokuhanga woodblock printmaking and book arts. Back of weight bar is scored so it does not slip as easily as if it was smooth.
